Course description

The goal of the educational discipline “Modern technologies for teaching psychological and pedagogical disciplines and methods of preschool education” is the formation of professional competence in teaching psychological and pedagogical disciplines and methods of preschool education in institutions of higher education in students of the “master’s” educational level of the “Preschool Education” specialty: providing students with a master’s degree a coherent and logically consistent system of knowledge about the didactics of the training of highly qualified personnel, the disclosure of the concept, the basis of the theory, methods and methodology of teaching disciplines in the higher education system.
Tasks of the educational discipline: mastering by future teachers the ways of organizing students’ educational and extracurricular activities, methods and technologies of teaching professional disciplines in higher education institutions; formation of practical skills in the design and implementation of educational programs and methodological materials from the discipline “Preschool pedagogy” and professional methods of preschool education; fostering a valuable attitude and respect for the personality of the student and the teaching profession.
The educational discipline “Modern technologies of teaching psychological and pedagogical disciplines and methods of preschool education” is a normative discipline for training students of the “Master’s” OR “Preschool Education” specialty and involves the integration of knowledge from the disciplines: “High School Pedagogy”, “Preschool Pedagogy” and professional methods of preschool education education; aimed at forming students’ professional skills to transform acquired knowledge into the educational process of a higher educational institution.
The study of the educational discipline “Modern technologies of teaching psychological and pedagogical disciplines and methods of preschool education” involves the mastering of the acquirers:
a) general competencies (CG):
ZK-1. The ability to act socially responsibly and consciously;
ZK-8. Ability to apply knowledge in practical situations;
ZK-9. Ability to identify, pose and solve problems.
b) special (professional) competences (FC):
FC-1. The ability to organize the educational process in preschool education institutions using modern means, methods, techniques, technologies;
FC-3. Ability to psychologically and pedagogically guide the personal development of children of early and preschool age, in particular, children with special educational needs;
FC-5. The ability to create and put into practice scientific developments aimed at improving the quality of educational activities and the educational environment in the system of preschool, in particular, inclusive education;
FC-6. The ability to carry out educational activities in order to increase the psychological and pedagogical competence of educators, parents, and the public;
FC-10. The ability to understand trends in education, to be able to recognize their potential results and consequences in order to improve the content of the training of pedagogical personnel.
Program learning outcomes (PRL):
PRN-1. Critically understand the conceptual foundations, goals, objectives, principles of preschool education functioning in Ukraine.
PRN-6. To carry out psychological and pedagogical guidance in the individual development of the child’s personality.
PRN-9. Apply modern didactic and methodological principles of teaching psychological and pedagogical disciplines in professional activities and choose appropriate technologies and methods.
PRN-10. Possess the skills and abilities of analysis, forecasting, planning, and organization of the educational process in a preschool education institution, taking into account the principles of child-centeredness, health care, inclusion, developmental learning, a person-oriented approach, subject-subject interaction.
PRN-16. Possess pedagogical coaching and self-coaching skills.

150 hours of 5 ECTS credits are allocated to the study of the academic discipline.
