Course description
The discipline “Social support of the elderly” is intended for students of the first bachelor’s level of full-time and part-time forms of education. The subject of study of the academic discipline is: theory and practice of social support of the elderly; forms, directions, content of social work with this category of service recipients.
The purpose of teaching the academic discipline is: formation of professional knowledge of higher education students about the biosocial processes of aging and old age; features of old age, characteristics of the aging process; social consequences of demographic processes caused by the aging of the population; peculiarities of psychosomatic, material and household, legislative, legal, socio-cultural and other problems of the elderly; deontological issues in social work with the elderly.
