Course description

1. Requirements of the educational program:

The study of the educational discipline “Age and Pedagogical Psychology” involves students mastering:

a) general competencies: the ability for interpersonal interaction, teamwork, communication with representatives of other professional groups of different levels; the ability to make effective decisions in professional activities and a responsible attitude to duties, motivating people to achieve a common goal; the ability to learn, master modern knowledge and apply knowledge in practical situations

b) professional competences: the ability to manage one’s own emotional states, to establish a constructive and partnership interaction with the participants of the educational process, to form the motivation of primary education students to study and to organize their cognitive activities; the ability to organize the educational process in elementary school, taking into account the age and individual characteristics of younger students, the development of their critical thinking and the formation of value orientations.

2. Expected learning outcomes

After studying the educational discipline, the applicant will: know the age and individual characteristics of younger schoolchildren, their cognitive development and the formation of value orientations, the psychological foundations of ensuring an individual and differentiated approach to primary education applicants, in particular, those with special educational needs; make psychologically justified decisions in situations of future professional activity; organize (model) constructive and partner interaction with participants in the educational process of primary school; use mental health self-preservation practices, conscious emotional response; create psychologically comfortable conditions for the educational process, plan measures to prevent and counter bullying, various types of violence, discrimination among elementary school students and other participants in the educational process.
